August and September have been quite busy with available properties but slow to rent them. It’s a competitive market with a lot of properties available and rents reducing so it’s important for owners to take the advice offered about pricing and how to show properties in the best light.

In August we attended the TMC Conference which had some great information about changes coming to the Residential Tenancies Act and about being safe in our job. We have since booked ourselves into a self defence class to help us improve our situational awareness and what to do should something happen while we’re out doing what we do.

At the conference we received an award for Top 10 Healthy Homes Compliance Excellence which was amazing to receive after 5 years of hard work getting hundreds of properties compliant, both at Haven Home Rentals and the previous company we both worked for.

At the end of September we also attended the Te Omanga Hospice Vintners Lunch to help support the great work they do. It was a great day had by all and if you're up for a day of fun and food whilst supporting a well known charity, then look out for next year's Vintners Lunch date!
