Amy and Lisa Establish Haven Home Rentals
We share the same values – people first, with great communication and transparency at the heart of what we do.
After six years working together, we still liked each other so decided it was time to go it alone.
Our client base grew, slowly at first, then as word of mouth spread, more people heard about us and got in touch. We’ve continued to receive fantastic feedback and we’ve put this down to staying true to our core values and our plan for the business.
Amy and Lisa from Haven Homes have just found a great tenant for my rental and I have found them superb to work with. I was constantly updated and kept in the loop. Our Approach
We make it a real focus to build a solid foundation by meeting our Owners together at the initial appraisal whenever possible and making great communication our top priority. This way, Owners know who they’re working with right from the start and appreciate the ongoing relationship they form with us.
It’s simple really, we reply to the emails and return the calls.
We’re not here to be the biggest. For us, it’s all about quality over quantity.
To ensure we’re providing the best service we can and not spending our valuable time travelling, we manage properties around the areas we live.
Amy is based in Upper Hutt so looks after the Hutt Valley, including Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Petone and Wainuiomata.
Lisa is based in the Northern Suburbs and looks after Porirua and the Northern and Western Suburbs, from Tawa to Karori and everywhere in between.
How we Look After Tenants
Tenants deserve to live in a warm, dry home and we’re here to make sure every home is maintained to an acceptable standard. We don’t manage properties we wouldn’t live in ourselves and only work with Owners who agree to look after their rental and keep it to a compliant and appropriate standard.
We realise not everyone is familiar with running a house. For example, if the power goes out it could be a number of things: maybe it’s a blown fuse or it could be that a new power connection hasn’t been set up – check out our website for a list of Common Issues that could be an easy fix.
If Tenants have any challenges, or circumstances change, we’re always here to help find a solution. We’re only a phone call or email away
As homeowners ourselves we understand it can be expensive to maintain a rental property. We have a network of tried and trusted local tradies at our disposal, who don’t charge the earth and prioritise our jobs. An added bonus, we don’t charge a maintenance fee on top of the tradie’ s invoice.
We have a proactive approach to maintenance to ensure our Owners assets are kept in good condition, which in turn attracts better quality tenants.
Sometimes the work needed can feel overwhelming, however we’re here to manage the process so you don’t have to.
I was having trouble getting the necessary enthusiasm to get some jobs done around the property. Lisa came in and together we came up with a detailed list of the work to be done. She quickly arranged contractors to come in and do the jobs at agreed times. The contractors were all very friendly and did their jobs well. I am very pleased with the results of the work and I look forward to working with Lisa in the future.
